The Associate Manager, Business Analytics plays a key role in enabling data-driven decision making across the Insurance Solutions team, which is responsible for the direction, delivery and performance of Canada Life's individual insurance products.

This role supports strategic and operational priorities through business casing, analytics and reporting insights while continuously improving reporting capabilities to drive business impact. The Associate Manager partners with leadership and cross-functional teams to define reporting needs, deliver dashboards and insights, and translate complex data into clear, executive-ready outputs.

What will you do

Business casing, stakeholder engagement & communication:

  • Lead the development of business cases for key initiatives, partnering with stakeholders to assess benefits, costs, risks, and implementation considerations.
  • Partner with Insurance Solutions leadership and cross-functional teams to define reporting needs, KPIs, and success metrics.
  • Engage business stakeholders early to understand requirements, clarify definitions, and align on outputs.
  • Translate complex data into clear, concise insights and executive-ready materials.

Reporting, analytics & insight generation:

  • Collaborate with data analysts to design and maintain standardized reports, dashboards, and data models to support ongoing business needs
  • Analyze expense and sales data to identify trends, drivers, and anomalies across individual insurance products and advisor/client behaviors
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations that inform strategic and operational decisions
  • Support ad hoc analysis to answer key business questions and quantify opportunities
  • Continuously identify opportunities to evolve analytics capabilities and outputs to better support the business.

 What you will bring

  • 5+ years of relevant experience and a university or college degree in a related field of study (e.g. business, finance, accounting, actuarial science, data science)
  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate with key stakeholders and communicate insights and recommendations to leadership
  • Proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint and Power BI
  • Proven ability to learn quickly, work independently, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and perform effectively with limited instructions
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce high-quality outputs under tight timelines
  • Driven to continuously improve processes, performance, and efficiency
  • Knowledge of the organization, distribution channels, insurance solutions products, systems, and data is an asset
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks, data modelling and creating interactive dashboards is an asset.

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: London and Toronto.

The base salary for this position is between $75,500 - $125,800 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
