Job description

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a talented individual to be a CO2 Process Support Engineer who will work closely with other LGUS CO2 Engineering Support Team members to serve the LGUS CO2 Business and Regional CO2 Operating facilities. The position will focus on productivity, reliability, safety and overall CO2 plant operations performance.

Scope:

This position requires a self-motivated, results-driven individual who works well in both team and individual task assignments. The individual will utilize a variety of skills, techniques, methodologies, and technologies including common sense, strong communication and collaboration skills, data acquisition/modeling, ability to acquire a solid understanding of CO2 Production Process, Process Safety technical review, ability to apply core technical knowledge in solving problems, specification/procurement of various production process equipment, project management, etc. The individual must have the ability to work with a variety of internal customers and associates as well as external entities including field contractors and equipment suppliers. 

Reporting Relationships:

The position reports directly to the LGUS Director of CO2 Engineering Support. The individual will have indirect reporting to Sr. CO2 Engineering Support Engineers, Regional Operations and CO2 Business.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of each CO2 Production Process-this will be facilitated through CO2 Team Training, CO2 LMS Training, P&ID review, plant visits and collaboration/communication with CO2 Engineering Support Team 
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the pertinent Safety and Engineering Standards, Policies, Guidelines as wells as Standard Operating/Maintenance procedures
  • Support of CO2 Production plants with troubleshooting and improvement opportunity identification.
  • Individual will be required to develop trends and reports for CO2 Engineering Support team members on an as-needed basis.
  • Identify CO2 plant productivity opportunities throughout all of the Linde LGUS CO2 facilities.  The individual will develop formal proposed solutions for each of the identified opportunities. (Note: Identification of Cost Avoidance and other Soft Benefit opportunities are encouraged as well.)
  • Individual will provide necessary support to CO2 Engineering Support Team members in Technical Review of MOC work process ; Critical Safety System development/review ( SA-39 and SA-40) and Operating Procedures.
  • Develop an understanding of CO2 Business and the supporting structure including various departments.
  • May write specifications and will perform necessary calculations
  • Provides follow up and engineering assistance for defined problems
  • May work with field teams on installations, troubleshooting, analysis and/or repairs
  • Applies engineering principles and concepts to his/her work roles
  • Participates in Team Meetings and Project Opportunity / Troubleshooting Decision Making
  • Presents findings and makes recommendations to internal and/or external clients
  • Serves as a resource for other engineering support
  • Champions new ideas
  • Applies in-depth professional knowledge and engineering principles to solve moderate problems
  • Individual may be need to provide assistance on CO2 Plant Assessments-review plant in terms of Process Safety Compliance and CO2 Assessment Protocol
  • Travel - May be up to 25% - 35% Travel.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
  • 1 years of CO2 Process Eng Experience preferred.
  • 1 years experience in Refrigeration/Cryogenic Process preferred.
  • 1 years of Project Management preferred.

Salary:

Pay commensurate with experience. Open to salary range $88,875 - $130,350.
