Job Profile:
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer independently implements and improves infrastructure solutions within a primary technical domain (Network Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, or Systems Infrastructure). This role demonstrates technical depth, contributes to design improvements, and collaborates across domains to deliver robust, secure, and efficient IT services. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer incorporates security and end user experience requirements into build work, and provides guidance to peers. The position is hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote.
Responsibilities:
Independently implement, configure, and optimize infrastructure solutions in the assigned domain.
Identify and drive improvements to existing systems, platforms, or networks.
Collaborate with architects and engineers to deliver cross-domain solutions and ensure seamless integration.
Document and share technical procedures, configurations, and operational handoffs.
Incorporate security and end user experience requirements into all build work.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Infrastructure Engineers.
Participate in design reviews and contribute to the development of standards and best practices.
Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.
Qualifications:
5+ years' experience in IT infrastructure or related technical roles.
Proven ability to independently implement and improve solutions in one technical domain.
Demonstrated contributions to cross-domain projects.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Experience incorporating security and end user experience requirements into technical solutions.
Technical Domains
Network Infrastructure:
o Implement and maintain connectivity for data centers, cloud, and edge. Focus on routing, switching, firewalls, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, remote access/VPN, DNS/DHCP/IPAM, and cloud networking.
Platform Engineering:
o Implement and support platforms and integration tools to streamline workflows and enable automation. Technologies include Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, integration tooling, observability tools, and self-service platforms.
Systems Infrastructure:
o Implement and maintain hybrid infrastructure, ensuring backup, disaster recovery, and compliance. Key areas: cloud/on-prem compute, virtualization/storage (Nutanix), backup (Commvault), OS baselines (Windows Server, Linux), disaster recovery, and cloud landing zones.
