Position Title: Cloud Platform Engineer
Department: Technology / Infrastructure
Location: Remote or Boston, MA (Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite, Seaport)
Salary: $145,000 - $160,000/year + bonus

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to help design, build, and operate scalable, secure, and resilient cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure. This role will play a key part in modernizing our infrastructure, enabling application teams, and establishing best practices for cloud architecture, automation, and reliability across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Platform Design
  • Design, implement, and evolve Azure-based cloud platforms that support business and application needs.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure Azure solutions aligned with best practices.
  • Lead architecture and design decisions across networking, compute, storage, identity, and container platforms (including AKS).

Technical Strategy & Enablement
  • Drive technical discussions around scalability, performance, high availability, disaster recovery, security, and compliance.
  • Provide guidance on cloud adoption, migrations, and platform optimization.
  • Act as a technical advisor to ensure cloud platforms integrate seamlessly with existing systems and workflows.

Solution Development & Operations
  • Lead Azure initiatives from design through deployment and ongoing support.
  • Build and manage Azure services including virtual networks, storage accounts, databases, AKS, Azure AD, and related services.
  • Design and maintain backup, recovery, and business continuity solutions.

Collaboration & Delivery
  • Partner closely with software engineering, DevOps, and operations teams to enable automated deployments and platform reliability.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand platform needs and deliver scalable solutions.

Security, Governance & Optimization
  • Implement Azure security, governance, and compliance best practices including RBAC and data protection.
  • Monitor and continuously improve platform performance, cost efficiency, and operational health.
  • Establish standards, policies, and tooling to streamline Azure management and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and supporting Azure cloud platforms.
  • Strong expertise across Microsoft Azure services (VMs, AKS, Azure AD, networking, storage, databases, DNS).
  • Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code tools such as PowerShell, ARM Templates, Azure CLI, or Terraform.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, data protection, and compliance in cloud environments.
  • Experience with networking technologies including routers, switches, load balancers, wireless, and SD-WAN.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Total Rewards
The base salary range for this role is $145k - $160k annually. Final compensation may vary and will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus and first-class benefits, which include:
