Job Description:
At Regions, the Accounting Analyst prepares accurate and timely financial reporting that may include, but not limited to, special requests, producing monthly and quarterly reporting, and adding value through continued process improvement. The analyst at this level possesses specialized knowledge of own discipline or function and may interpret internal or external issues and recommend solutions/best practices.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Assists in preparation detailed reports and presentations for review by all levels of management
  • Contributes to process improvements and makes recommendations on occasion
  • Researches and responds to technical accounting inquiries from our business partners
  • Analyzes and resolves problems using prescribed guidelines or policies
  • Completes ad-hoc reporting or other special projects as they arise
  • May act as a resource for associates with less experience
  • Creates and maintains databases, documentation, and data in a meaningful format
  • Works independently and receives minimal guidance

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a directly related field
  • Three (3) years in public accounting or industry with reporting, policy, or financial analysis experience

Preferences
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) and/or Master's degree in Finance
  • Experience within a financial services industry
  • Certified Public Accountant Licensure (CPA)

Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to research, analyze data, and drive appropriate solutions
  • Ability to work under moderate guidance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation
  • Strong attention to detail

This associate position will support the Business Unit Controller(s) of Risk and Corporate Governance and the Consumer Bank. The associate will perform technical accounting (GAAP) research and analysis and will help implement this guidance into our business processes. Research, analysis, documentation, communication, and critical thinking skills are important for success in this role. Associate must be able to work in a flexible work environment as ad hoc projects and research are the nature of this role. The following experience is beneficial to this role: revenue recognition accounting, credit accounting, HR accounting, BOLI, stock compensation, pension, financial trend analysis, SOX, assurance/audit.
This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense.
Regions will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position at this time. Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.
The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.
