Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION PURPOSE:
Serves as the on-site pastoral presence and supervisor of paid and volunteer parish staff. Collaborates with the pastor, parochial vicar and staff to ensure effective coordination of, and communication between, parish ministries.
I. ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES:
A. Collaborates with the pastor, staff, and consultative bodies in
implementing the mission of the parish.
B. Collaborates with the pastor in the overall pastoral care of the parish.
C. Supervises the Volunteer Coordinator in the management of the weekly
collection and deposits.
D. Collaborates with the Parochial Vicar and the Pastor to prepare Sunday and
Holy Day liturgies, including the drafting of the Universal Prayers and the
announcements.
E. Coordinates liturgical ministers in collaboration with the Volunteer
Coordinator and with the support of the Director of Liturgy at St. James
Cathedral.
A. Coordinates faith formation with the support of the Family 17 Pastoral
Assistant for Faith Formation, including Children's Faith Formation, First
Communion, Confirmation, Baptism and Marriage preparation.
B. Coordinates Weddings, Funerals and Baptisms, including ensuring all necessary
paperwork is provided.
H. Convenes regular staff meetings.
II. Participates, and/or advises as able, the Parish Family Leadership Team and
the Parish Family Vision Council.
Supervises:
Parish Receptionist/Administrative Assistant
Parish Volunteer Coordinator
Five years of Pastoral Ministry leadership. Familiarity with Catholic Doctrine and Liturgical practice. Master's Degree in Theology required.
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
