Job description

Summary Description
Duties will include pulling, packing, and sorting items for shipping and receiving. You will work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
Essential Duties
  • Accurately pulls, fills, packs and sets up orders for delivery or pickup.
  • Organizes shipment priorities, such as UPS, commercial carrier, daily, job site and will call and stages the orders in uniform fashion for ease of loading and verification.
  • Assists in loading the delivery truck.
  • Receives shipments, logs into inventory, maintains inventory through audits.
  • Locates manufacturer's packing list, verifies receipt of each item listed, signs and attaches packing list to each bill of lading.
  • Signs and dates freight bill noting all adjustments and/or damage to product and reports any quality or inventory discrepancy issues to the appropriate person.
  • Communicates positively with supervisors, sales staff, fellow workers and customers to coordinate deliveries/pick-up.
  • Moves all inventory into allocated spaces within warehouse.
  • Assists in keeping facility clean, neat, safe and operating efficiently.
  • Assists in keeping facility secure. Ensures all equipment is stored at end of day and all doors and gates are secured.
  • Maintains proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required.
  • Lift 50-75lbs safely throughout the workday with or without assistance
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Skills and Experience
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from a certified college preferred.
  • Prior experience in distribution or warehousing preferred but not required

Knowledge: Knowledge of customer service principles and practices, Ability to manage effectively time to meet targets and deadlines, Have knowledge of operating a PC.
Skill: Should have good oral and written communication skills, Ability to organize and prioritize to meet objectives, good interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires vision and hearing
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to climb a ladder/stairs
  • Must be able to Bend, Stoop, Squat, Kneel
  • Must be able to use foot controls for to operate forklift if certified
  • Must be able to Reach outward and work above shoulders
  • Must be able to use wrist (flexion/extension) and Grasp (forceful)
  • Must be able to have fine manipulation on both hands
  • Must be able to lift 50 to 75 lbs safely with or without assistance.
