Job description

Job Title: Elementary General Studies Teacher

Location: Yeshiva Sha’arei Zion, Forest Hills, Queens

Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Yeshiva Sha’arei Zion is a warm, nurturing, and dynamic Yeshiva committed to fostering the academic, emotional, and spiritual growth of our students. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated General Studies Teacher to join our team and inspire young minds in our elementary school program.

Position Overview:
The Elementary General Studies Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons in core subjects such as English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. The ideal candidate will create a positive and stimulating learning environment that promotes academic excellence, critical thinking, and a love of learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement creative and effective lessons aligned with academic standards.

  • Teach core General Studies subjects, fostering a well-rounded educational experience.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

  • Assess student progress through regular assignments, projects, and evaluations.

  • Provide a nurturing and supportive classroom atmosphere to build students' confidence and motivation.

  • Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents to ensure the success and growth of each student.

  • Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance instruction.

  • Maintain classroom management while cultivating respect, responsibility, and strong character traits.

  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Masters degree in Education or a related field (required).

  • Teaching certification preferred.

  • Previous experience teaching elementary-aged students, preferably in a private school or Yeshiva setting.

  • Strong classroom management skills.

  • Ability to engage students through dynamic and differentiated instruction.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Familiarity with integrating Judaic studies schedules a plus.

  • Passionate about education and committed to student growth.
