POSITION SUMMARY

As an Engineering Die Technician, you will work closely with engineers and other technical staff to provide support in die maintenance and inspection. Your primary responsibilities will involve hands-on work with engineering tools, equipment, and processes, as well as collecting and analyzing data to support engineering projects and research initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical experience in the field of engineering while working in a collaborative and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and be able to perform tasks under their own guidance.

POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Die inspection: Visual inspection of tooling as well as operating 3D scanning equipment.
  • Accountability: Ownership of the die inspection process and be the primary resource related to tooling condition and status. Communicate tooling status to technical and operational teams.
  • Documentation: Prepare accurate and detailed technical reports, including test procedures, equipment specifications, and maintenance records.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers and other team members to discuss project requirements, progress, and challenges. Provide insights and suggestions to improve processes and procedures.
  • Quality control: Adhere to quality standards and procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of testing and measurement results. Manage 3D scanning equipment and software functionality.
  • Safety compliance: Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others. Identify and report potential safety hazards.
  • Equipment inventory: Assist in maintaining an organized inventory of die tooling, engineering tools, equipment, and supplies. Recommend procurement of new equipment when necessary.
  • Professional development: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices relevant to the field of engineering. Seek opportunities for professional growth and skill enhancement.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as assigned in accordance with established Company mission and values.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proven experience as an Engineering Die Technician or a similar role, with a strong background in hands-on technical work.
  • Proficiency in using engineering tools, equipment, and software for data collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and methodologies, with a focus on the specific area of expertise (drawing interpretation, GD&T, Polyworks, AutoCAD, NX, and Teamcenter).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.

BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience will be considered)

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology or a related field is preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiar with machining processes
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints
  • 1 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • 1-3 years of experience operating a forklift.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
