Job Summary
This Sr. Network Engineer / Sr. System Administrator role will focus on the development and growth of our IT strategy to support our growing business. This role will be a subject matter expert in a predominantly Microsoft cloud environments including Microsoft 365 and Azure AD with significant emphasis on providing technical leadership, design, and support to an expansive network of locations, technology platforms, and users.
This is a hands-on role that will work directly with business partners to plan, implement, and manage complex projects involving acquisitions, technical integrations, and data migrations for enterprise environments.
Job Description
Job Specific Duties
  • Design, implement and manage cloud-based infrastructure in Microsoft Azure, including Virtual Machines, Storage, Networking, Security, and Identity & Access Management.
  • Administer and support Office 365 services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, and other Office 365 applications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft Azure and Office 365 environments
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve system administration tasks
  • Provide guidance and support to other IT team members on Microsoft Azure and Office 365-related issues.
  • Manage and monitor cloud resources to ensure availability, performance, and security of systems.
  • Building and scaling complex application systems at an enterprise level
  • Microsoft Windows AD, DNS, SCCM, Servers (on prem & Azure)
  • Management of Hyper V/Virtualization environment
  • Storage, backup, and recovery
  • Microsoft Azure cloud management & administration including environment provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance, and security.
  • Manage the implementation of CloudOps capabilities within existing organizational support structures and identify simplification opportunities for operational processes.
  • Assess and maintaining the reliability and security of technology platforms
  • Provide integration skills and experience to ensure the interoperability of new and existing systems
  • Analyze existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance, present recommendations to modernize or improve, and then execute accordingly
  • Migrate existing infrastructure services to cloud-based solutions
  • Manage security and access controls of cloud-based solutions.
  • Develop & implement policy driven data protection best practices to ensure technology solutions are protected from data loss.
  • Ensuring all infrastructure components meet proper performance and capacity standards.
  • Participate in on-call rotation outside of normal operating hours to address and resolve technical escalations.
  • Design, develop, and implement highly available, multi-region solutions within Microsoft Azure.
  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday and weekend or overnight hours as required.
  • Travel: Up to 10% or as required

Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements
  • BS degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years in designing, developing, installing, and supporting Enterprise quality solutions
  • 8+ years of experience supporting Microsoft server and client environments within an enterprise environment
  • Significant experience as either a Lead Engineer or Solution Architect in an Enterprise cloud-enabled environment
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing Microsoft Azure and Office 365 environments
  • Good knowledge of Azure Active Directory, Azure Virtual Network, Azure Storage, and other Azure services.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes, including incident management, change management, and problem management

Desired Certifications/Accreditations
  • MCSE
  • Azure - AZ-104, AZ-204, AZ-500, AZ-303/304 etc.

Knowledge Skills, and Abilities
  • Exceptional customer service skills, able to deliver courteous, professional, and effective technical support and assistance to a wide range of customers/users.
  • Demonstrated ability to support data center hardware (compute and network).
  • Excellent communication and customer relation skills.
  • Provide leadership to junior staff and external consultants.
  • Detailed knowledge in the following areas:
  • Experience with Windows Server Deployment, Management, and Troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Windows and Active Directory components, including Active Directory users, groups, permissions, Organizational Units (OUs) and Group Policy Objects (GPO)
  • Experience troubleshooting problems with complex implementations, including log review, service validation, and defect documentation
  • Strong PowerShell Skills
  • Must have experience supporting a large enterprise environment
  • Azure Storage Account, Disk, Snapshot, Backup, Site Recovery, file sync
  • Azure Governance and Compliance
  • Must have proven experience organizing and expressing written and verbal communications clearly, effectively, and efficiently
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work off-shift and weekends as required
  • Proactive, energetic, professional self-starter with excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
