Job description

Role Description:

  • As an electronics team technician, you will leverage expertise in the assembly of mechanical and electrical devices and their testing to reliably assemble everything from bespoke electronics prototypes to production electronics..
  • You will also leverage strong written and oral communication skills, as well as detail-oriented diligence, to assist Client s engineering and research staff with everything from soldering PCBs, designing and implementing the test procedures to validate the functionality of the assembled devices, to helping put together electronics test-setups, assisting in data collection, and handling logistics such as equipment inventory and lab organization.

Top Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and configure electronics (soldering, wirebonding, and mechanical assembly), fridge wiring configuration, as well as networking test equipment.
  • Testing of assembled electrical and mechanical devices to validate proper assembly.
  • Gather data using testing procedures designed by electronics team engineers
  • Support deployment and operation of technologies developed by the electronics team that serves the greater organization.
  • Help maintain organization/operation of lab test equipment and materials including inventory.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ year of experience as an electronics technician
  • Experience performing electrical measurements
  • Experience with electronics assembly techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or higher degree in engineering, technology, or related fields
  • Experience with more sophisticated electronics test equipment, such as vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Familiarity with EM and circuit theory at the level of a first year college electricity and magnetism course.
  • Experience with and ability to use UNIX-based command-line interfaces
  • Ability to analyze data and troubleshoot.
  • Ability to manually build an assemble electrical and mechanical devices that involve soldering, wire-bonding, and other wiring form factors.
  • Knowledge and experience with common mechanical and electrical tools and units of measurement, e.g. use of a hand-held multi-meter, operation of basic power supplies, use of calipers.
  • Proficiency with and ability to learn the use of modern software programs such as google sheets, keysight electronics equipment interfaces.
  • Ability to read a schematic and follow documented operations procedures.
