Senior DDC Engineer - HVAC Building Controls - Base Salary to 125k/year - Reisterstown, MD

  • Our client, a well-established HVAC Building Controls Provider, is currently seeking an experienced Senior DDC Engineer to service their MD, DC and Northern VA territory; onsite and remote work. This is a small to mid-sized company that is large enough to offer consistent business opportunities, yet small enough to be family oriented
  • The Senior DDC Engineer will be responsible for BAS Controls for HVAC, Access, Security/Surveillance, Smoke, & Lighting for Healthcare/ Hospitals, Labs, Data Centers, and Government projects. Schedule for this role is typically, home after each shift; overnights are rare; usually day hours with occasional night/ weekend hours needed depending on projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Team with Engineering to design and develop project Control Drawings
  • Program controllers and devices for projects
  • Ensure proper operation of all Building Control Sequences
  • Test inputs and outputs to ensure proper operation and calibration
  • Ensure all specified alarms are configured and tested
  • Ensure all history and archives are configured and tested
  • Develop site graphics
  • Provide training to end users
  • Provide training and mentor DDC technicians
  • Ensure continuous and proper operation of BAS Programs
  • Integrate and Program controls to 3rd Party building systems
  • Read, write, and modify programming software for multiple control brands
  • Interact with Mechanical Engineers, Contractors, Commissioning Agents, and Subcontractors to field-verify problem areas and initiate corrections
  • Work independently and with others to solve day-to-day issues
  • Read and interpret Mechanical, Control Drawings, and Sequences Of Operation for System Design, programming and commissioning.
  • Complete and provide Engineering Dept. with accurate As-Built drawings
  • Set up & troubleshoot new site workstations, network equipment, and networks
  • On-site / field job work with potential remote site support

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field; OR extensive hands-on experience
  • 5+ years servicing DDC and HVAC systems up to & including independent programming of DDC / BAS systems
  • Experience with one or more of: Schneider – Continuum/EcoStruxure, Delta ORCAview/enteliWEB, Niagara AX/N4, Alerton Compass
  • BACnet system design to include BACnet IP/Ethernet and MS/TP networks
  • Server, Workstation, laptop, Microsoft Office, and IP LAN/WAN experience
  • Ability to program a complete DDC system air side and water side
  • Due to government work, must be willing to apply for Security Clearance which includes a 7-year background check
