Join the Strategic Analytics team at New York Life as a Senior Full-Stack Developer and help us create powerful, interactive analytics applets that drive strategic business decisions.

In this role, you'll be responsible for building intuitive, high-impact user interfaces with React and Streamlit, while also architecting robust, cloud-native backends using Kubernetes, DynamoDB, Jenkins, and modern DevOps tools. You'll collaborate with analytics engineers, business stakeholders, and data scientists to deliver enterprise-grade products that power decisions across sales, marketing, finance, and more.

You'll be joining a highly collaborative, agile team of technologists and analytics experts with a passion for building the future of data-driven decision-making at New York Life.

What You'll Do:

Design, build, and maintain front-end applications using React and Streamlit to visualize key insights and analytics

Develop APIS leveraging FAST API for analytics web applications

Collaborate with data teams to integrate front-end components with cloud-based backends, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security

Build and manage APIs, workflows, and services leveraging tools such as Kubernetes, DynamoDB, Jenkins, and containerized environments

Work with cross-functional partners to define product requirements, structure dashboards, and deliver intuitive, insight-rich applications

Champion UI/UX best practices, ensuring that end-user experiences are simple, elegant, and highly functional

Lead code reviews and contribute to the overall improvement of software development practices within the team

Identify opportunities to optimize existing platforms and recommend innovative solutions to meet emerging business needs

Act as a thought partner and technical advisor to business and analytics stakeholders

What You'll Bring:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)

5+ years of experience as a full-stack developer with a strong portfolio of interactive applications or tools

Experience in React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and web development fundamentals

Proficient in Streamlit or other Python-based UI frameworks for data visualization

Solid experience with back-end technologies, including Kubernetes (EKS), DynamoDB, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins)

Experience building and deploying applications in cloud environments (AWS preferred)

Familiarity with API design, microservices architecture, and DevOps workflows

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

  Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field

  Experience integrating with analytics tools or working in data-focused product environments

  Understanding of cloud-native architecture and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform)

  Exposure to GenAI tools and interest in integrating AI-enhanced workflows into applications

Passion for data visualization, analytics, and building tools that empower business users

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $124,000-$177,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
