Job description

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary purpose of this position is to generate Sales Revenues and Contribution Margin levels that meet or exceed the company’s short and long-term objectives.  Working directly with customer representatives in the areas of purchasing and development engineering functions, this position will receive and respond to all Requests for Quotation concerning pricing, capacity, timing, and special requirements for their assigned customers.  In addition, the Sales Engineer is responsible for promoting the sale of all O-Flex Products and Value-Added Services; for developing new customer accounts and servicing existing customer accounts.  This position is currently designed to operate out of the Clanton, AL office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 75% of the time will be required for travel to expand sales of O-Flex Group Inc. with both new and existing customers.
  • Working with all levels of the organization, develop fulfillment strategies that meet or exceed customer needs; this includes but is not limited to price negotiations, general administrative requirements of the customer, customer forecasting, and routinely visiting customers to build relationships, etc...
  • Provide Executive Staff with marketing information and field intelligence for both current and future customers and competitors, suggesting appropriate courses of action.
  • Assist the Director of Sales in developing the annual sales forecast as well as the 2-year Strategic Sales Plan.
  • Provide support to the Quality and Customer Service Departments for all customers on any quality-related issues.
  • Participate in Project Launch Meetings and Product Development meetings to provide information and keep customers informed as required.
  • Working with the Manufacturing and Product Engineering groups, prepare accurate price quotations and requests for information in a timely manner.  Mfg and Engineering provide cost information; Sales personnel set profit margins to match what the market will bear.
  • Participates in the creation of marketing materials including web page designs, brochures and flyers, customer presentation materials, and customer sample requests.
  • Actively participate in setting and achieving company goals and objectives as to cost, quality, profit, productivity, customer service levels, and associate relations.
  • Complete and forward formalized monthly reports.
  • Maintain proficiency in all aspects of our operation and products.

 NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 Continuously improve all assigned functions to eliminate non-value-added activities.

 EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

 An undergraduate degree in Business or other related sales/technical field is preferred.

  • Five or more years of experience in industries such as aluminum products/ aluminum extrusions/ Medical products/ aerospace/ marine products.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communications skills.
  • Maintains exceptional interpersonal skills when interfacing effectively with all levels of the customer’s management, design, engineering, and purchasing personnel, as well as internally with other O-Flex associates.
  • Multitask-oriented with extreme attention to detail.  Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Access, MS Project, PowerPoint, and other comparable software packages.

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force to frequently lift, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking and standing for brief periods.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

 SUMMARY OF WORKING CONDITIONS: Employee is aware of potential exposure to hazardous materials, and environmental changes (heat/cold). Employees must be able to work under stress occasioned by personnel, visitors, and the needs of other departments and customers.  Employees must utilize proper body mechanics to avoid injuries.
