Press Operator Assoc. - 2nd Shift
Starting pay $21.00 an hour plus based on experience.

Entry level position, training will be provided.

Position Summary

We are looking for production associates to join our team. Our production associates’ duties include using a crane, reading work orders, learning specs, using precision measurement tools, heat treating aluminum aircraft parts, and trouble shooting/repairing the machine.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Know and follow general company and corporate policies and procedures.Know, understand, and follow department policies and procedures.
  • Operates automatic and manual chemical process equipment of varying complexity in various production processes in accordance with operating procedures.
  • Controls heat-treating furnaces, baths and quenching equipment to alter physical and chemical properties of metal objects, using specifications and methods of controlled heating/cooling
  • Places parts in racks, trays, or baskets and places objects on conveyor or loads
  • Determines temperature and time of heating cycle, and type and temperature of baths and quenching medium to attain specified hardness, toughness, and ductility of parts.
  • Use standard heating charts, utilize knowledge of heat treating methods, equipment, and properties of metals.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
  • Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly.
  • Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
  • Installs machine replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
  • Report to work on time, good regular attendance, follow instructions from supervisor or management, interact well co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures.
  • Crossing training into other various departments
  • Other various duties as needed or as assigned.
  • Good regular attendance

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
