Responsibilities
  • Develop and communicate ship dates to the sales organization based on available capacity and assurance of on-going communication with sales.
  • Oversees the master production schedules to support customer service and identify improvements and solutions to planning processes. Makes or recommends revisions to planned production schedules as necessary when schedules cannot be met, including planning/preparing backup schedules and directing production supervisors on utilization of personnel.
  • Interface with the Sales department regarding demand forecasts, consignment stock management and controls inventory levels.
  • Establishes effective communication with all departments in Operations, QA and Sales to ensure the on-time delivery of products through monitoring of orders from start to finish.
  • Establishes warehouse operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, customer service, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Ensures proper delivery of materials and services for production according to customer and production commitments.
  • Works with U.S. Customs & freight forwarders to help solve or provide information for import and export issues.
  • Screens, hires and coordinates training & development of warehouse personnel and issues work assignments.

Strategic and Project Tasks
  • Work with the Plansee Logistic Group department to further develop and implement logistics strategies, systems and rules.
  • Manage logistics optimization projects.
  • Training of employees in logistics processes, and other related topics.

Qualifications/Skills
  • Associate degree in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain. Relative experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 5 -7 years of experience in warehouse, scheduling, planning, and purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and MRP system. Experience using SAP R/3 Logistics module (emphasis on Production and Production Planning) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, including coaching, mentoring, and developing employees; fostering positive and productive working relationships; effectively managing team performance; and utilizing strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to build trust, collaborate across teams, manage relationships effectively, and create a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Ability to work under strict time constraints and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing.
  • CPIM & APICS certification is desired.

The base compensation for this position is between 100-120k annually, commensurate with skill and experience level. This role will also be bonus eligible as part of the Core Leadership Team.
