Job description

Warehouse Associate

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Associate to join our team at Ruby Jewel. In this role, you will be an essential part of our warehouse operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of our delicious ice cream products from production to storage and distribution. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include inventory management, safe operation of warehouse equipment, and maintaining high-quality handling standards to ensure product integrity. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is comfortable working in a cold storage setting.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Operate electric pallet jacks and forklifts safely to load, unload, and transport products efficiently.
  • Transfer inventory between the manufacturing facility and 3rd party storage facilities via company box truck.
  • Ensure the safe and timely transport of goods within the warehouse and to delivery vehicles while maintaining product integrity.
  • Follow proper handling and storage protocols to prevent product damage, spoilage, or contamination.
  • Monitor and organize inventory levels, maintaining accurate records and facilitating efficient stock rotation.
  • Support ice cream sandwich processing and manufacturing as needed on the production line.
  • Assist in conducting regular inventory audits, discrepancy reporting, and stock reconciliation.
  • Perform basic maintenance on warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all work areas, including sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing floors as needed.
  • Work closely with warehouse management and customer service to fulfill orders accurately and meet production schedules.
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks, verifying shipments, and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Comply with company policies regarding safety, quality control, sanitation, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned by the Warehouse & Logistics Manager.

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:

  • Exposure to allergens, including but not limited to nuts, dairy, gluten, and latex.
  • Operating manual and powered lifts safely.
  • Using various manual and power tools (e.g., box knife, hammer, drill).
  • Handling hazardous cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Communicating effectively with department managers, supervisors, visitors, and contracted workers.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, with proper lifting techniques.
  • Working in cold storage environments (-20ยฐF) for prolonged periods with appropriate protective gear.
  • Operating automated and semi-automated ice cream equipment, such as continuous freezers, packaging machines, and liquid nitrogen tunnels.

Education, Prior Work Experience, Specialized Skills and Knowledge:

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Forklift Certification.
    • 1+ years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar environment (preferred).
    • Valid Driver's License.
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Preferred Skills & Attributes:
    • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in a fast-paced setting.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work efficiently under deadlines.
    • Experience with delivery driving, especially refrigerated (reefer) units, is a plus.
    • Basic computer skills preferred, including inventory management systems and Excel/Microsoft.
