Founded in 1989, Desert Lumber and Building Materials supplies customers with specialty building materials from multiple locations across Las Vegas, NV. Operations that include 2 Lumber Yards, Floor and Roof Truss Manufacturing, Desert Fasteners, and Desert Window Systems.

A Brief Overview
The Logistic Manager will oversee Centralized Dispatch, to include the work of a team of logistics supervisors, leads, coordinators and/or drivers. In this role, customer satisfaction is a priority as it is critical to the success of the business. This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating freight and supply logistics, shipping routes, and delivery to maximize efficiency and ensure customer satisfaction. Additionally, responding immediately to customer questions and complaints, and notifying them of any delays in the delivery schedule is essential to this position.

Pay Range: $110,000 - $130,000 annually


What you will do

  • Lead and oversee centralized dispatch operations, including dispatch routes, printing manifests, pre-calling customers, loading driver assignments, scheduling transfers, and coordinating the use of outside trucks, trailers, or transportation services.
  • Ensure operational accuracy and documentation control by scanning documents, maintaining invoice records and filing systems, posting corrections, printing and distributing work picks, and complying with all required company policies and guidelines.
  • Monitor performance and improve processes through tracking metrics and errors, evaluating workflows, and identifying opportunities to optimize and streamline production and logistics processes.
  • Provide customer and team support, communicating delivery issues with sales, drivers, and customers, and responding promptly to customer inquiries or complaints; deliver excellent customer service.
  • Promote safety and compliance and complete all required training.
  • Responsible for managing a team of 10+ associates (direct and indirect), including hiring and termination decisions, setting goals, communicating expectations, providing performance feedback, and overseeing budget accountability.
