Job description

SUMMARY

Transporter (Forklift Operator) reports to Warehouse Supervisor; the Transporter (Forklift Operator) is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The Transporter (Forklift -Operator) is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the various types industrial power equipment and will be required to perform: Loading / Unloading, Order Filler / Picker, Material Handler / Stocker, Production Supply and Checker duties and any project work required. Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods. Forklift Operators are cross-trained for coating/Corn syrup receiving and PO receiving (raw material).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Daily Redzone Food Safety and GMP’s Audits

· Quality: Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.

· Order picking (transfers): Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped. Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.

· Loading / Unloading: Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars or trailers.

· Equipment: Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment. Radio frequency equipment for picking, receiving, put away, and load functions, as required.

· Inventory: Keep appropriate records and reports to ensure accuracy of bin location as well as quantity of inventory control and security are maintained. Assist in physical inventories. Ensure proper stock rotation.

· Safety, Sanitation, Security: Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards.)

· Support Production with request on the production floor (movements of pallets)

· Cycle counts, Validate Inventory, audit paperwork, AX transactions.

· Additions task assigned by Supervision/Lead.

Physical/Environmental Requirements:

· Standing on a concrete floor.

· Wearing proper personal protective equipment (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, and uniform).

· Bending, stooping, twist, turn, standing for extended time periods, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

· Required to work weekends.

· Required to work mandatory overtime when needed.
