Job Purpose

Jackson's Strategic Support Program (SSP) is designed to create a talent pipeline, providing on-demand staffing to various departments and teams within our organization. As a Strategic Support Associate (SSA), you will join our diverse population of associates, performing critical daily business support functions which directly impact customer satisfaction. The Security Operations Center (SOC) SSA will be a member of Jackson's Information Security Team. They will be responsible for analyzing and presenting findings for fraud and Account Takeover investigations (ATO) and investigating security alerts to include phishing emails and attacks against Jackson's users and systems. This position will support day-to-day SOC functions and continuously improve the program while maintaining security and strong relationships with internal departments. The Security Operations Center employs day and night shifts to cover 24 x 7 x 365 days a year.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Identifies, investigates, and respondsto Cybersecurity threats as assigned by Security Analysts.

  • Performs reviews of events detected with the organizations anti-fraud and security systems.

  • Maintains knowledge of current and emerging fraud and Account Takeover trends, tactics, tools, and techniques.

  • Collects additional context using Threat Intelligence data in support of analysis.

  • Provides actionable recommendations to strengthen the organization's Cyber Security Posture.

  • Updates internal procedures for detection and investigation as assigned.

  • Monitors SOC mailboxes and responds within service level agreements.

  • Monitors SOC Help Desk ticket queue and provides resolution within service level agreements.

  • Documents and escalates events according to Security Operations processes and procedures.

  • Knows and understands documented Information Security policies.

  • Maintains confidentiality on all sensitive security matters.

  • Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.

  • Orientation occurs during Week 1. Orientations are offered at preset days of the week and times of the day and will be selected upon offer.

  • Training and Certification occurs during the first 6 months to 1 year. Shifts are offered between 7:00am to 8:00pm, Monday-Friday. 1 to 2 training shifts per month will occur during overnight hours, 7:00pm to 7:00am.

  • Core work hours begins following the training and certification period where shifts are offered between 7:00pm to 8:00am, Monday-Sunday. Shifts may fall on nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in university program focused on information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, criminal justice, or forensics required.

  • Internship experience in IT or Security strongly preferred.

  • Experience in IT support or computer networking strongly preferred.

  • Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals - SC-900 preferred.

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals - AZ-900 preferred.

  • CompTIA Security+ preferred.
