Senior Designer

Reports to: Associate Creative Director
Department: Creative Services

Position Purpose

The Senior Designer is a highly skilled and versatile visual communicator responsible for translating brand strategy into compelling creative solutions across a wide range of traditional and digital touchpoints. This role combines strategic thinking, creative problem solving, and exceptional design execution to create work that not only looks outstanding but delivers measurable results.

The ideal candidate possesses well-rounded experience activating brands across a wide variety of mediums and touchpoints. They have a strong understanding of both traditional and digital communications and can confidently apply strategic design thinking across channels to support business objectives, strengthen brand perception, and drive audience engagement. They understand how audiences engage with different channels and can apply strong design principles strategically to maximize effectiveness regardless of medium.

The Senior Designer partners closely with strategy, account service, content, media production, and development team members to bring bold ideas to life. They can contribute at both the conceptual and executional levels-helping shape creative direction while remaining deeply involved in the hands-on creation of work.

The Senior Designer is a highly capable and self-sufficient member of the creative team who inspires confidence through both their work and their presence. They are committed to providing clients and their team with stellar collaboration, consultant-minded thinking, accountability, effective communication, and a commitment to going beyond what is expected.

Position Responsibilities

Creative Leadership & Design Excellence

  • Independently conceptualize, design, and execute large-scale, multi-deliverable projects from initial concept through final implementation.
  • Create strategic, high-quality creative solutions across a broad range of traditional and digital touchpoints that align with project objectives, support brand strategy, and exceed client expectations.
  • Lead and actively participate in conceptual brainstorming sessions, encouraging project teams to explore ideas beyond expected boundaries.
  • Ensure all creative work reflects a high standard of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and strategic thinking.

Client & Strategic Partnership

  • Gain a deep understanding of clients' businesses, industries, competitive landscapes, target audiences, and marketing objectives to inform the creative process.
  • Partner closely with strategists, account managers, content creators, media producers, developers, and fellow designers to develop integrated creative solutions.
  • Communicate the strategy, rationale, and thought process behind creative concepts with confidence and clarity during internal reviews and client presentations.
  • Build strong client relationships through proactive communication, responsiveness, professionalism, and a consultant mentality.

Project Execution & Team Contribution

  • Ensure projects are completed successfully within project timing, budget, efficiency, productivity metrics, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams to establish timelines, define deliverables, and maintain project momentum.
  • Provide creative guidance, support, and constructive feedback to designers and project team members to ensure work meets Bailey's standards.
  • Engage resources across departments as required to maximize project results, improve processes, and exceed client expectations.

Innovation & Professional Development

  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, software platforms, AI-assisted creative tools, motion design, and emerging digital experiences.
  • Explore and adopt new tools, workflows, and technologies that improve creative effectiveness, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Continuously develop design, communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
