Job Summary
Landis+Gyr is seeking a highly capable and customer focused Solution Specialist to join our expanding Solutions team. This role sits at the intersection of technology, customer engagement, product strategy, and solution demonstration. You will serve as a technical advocate for our AMI, Grid Modernization, DER, and smart grid related platforms-helping shape customer understanding, guiding solution positioning, and ensuring that our end to end capabilities are communicated with clarity and impact.
What You'll Do:
Solution Demonstrations & Technical Storytelling -
• Develop and deliver tailored product and system demonstrations that address customer requirements, operational workflows, deployment models, and competitive landscapes.
• Maintain and continuously improve end to end demo environments, including curated use case demonstrations for AMI, Grid Edge, DERMS, SPAN integrations, and future platform capabilities.
• Partner closely with Solutions to ensure demo alignment with opportunity strategy and customer decision criteria.
• Support Solutions representatives at customer meetings, onsite workshops, conferences, trade shows, and industry events.
Innovation & Cross Functional Ideation -
• Partner with Solutions, Product Management, and Engineering to quickly turn new ideas into demos, prototypes, or proof of concepts.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and simplify them into clear, actionable concepts.
• Support fast experimentation cycles to validate ideas with internal teams and customers.
• Produce concise documentation that aligns concepts with customer needs and product direction.
• Foster a collaborative, creative mindset that helps teams move from idea → prototype → solution efficiently.
Requirements Analysis & Use Case Definition -
• Research and analyze customer requirements, engineering constraints, operational environments, and deployment objectives.
• Support Solutions Specialist in translating customer findings into documented use cases, detailed solution behaviors, and clear technical assumptions.
• Document required feature sets, integration points, and customer requested improvements, including their business or operational impact.
Technical Documentation & Thought Leadership -
• Maintain clarity, accuracy, and alignment across materials used in presales and customer facing engagements.
Market, Technology & Competitive Awareness
• Maintain an up to date understanding of competitive offerings, regulatory drivers, technology trends (AMI 2.0, DER, flexibility, analytics, grid modernization), and evolving solution architectures across the smart grid ecosystem.
• Produce high quality customer facing documentation, including:
o Technical notes
o White papers
o Reference architecture
o Solution diagrams

You will gain deep exposure to smart grid technology design, AMI system architecture, grid edge applications, DER integrations, utility operational workflows, and enterprise grade solution delivery-while working hands on with leaders across Innovation & Technology, Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success.
Qualifications:
Required -
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field.
• Ability to communicate complex topics clearly for technical and executive audiences.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate requirements into actionable solution outputs.
• Experience with diagrams, solution documentation, and technical presentations.
Preferred -
• Prior presales engineering, solutions architecture, or technical consulting experience.
• Understanding of cloud architectures, device telemetry flows, and system integration models.
Work Environment:
• This role may require periodic travel for onsite workshops, customer demonstrations, events, and solution validation efforts (typically <25%).
• Travel may include conference participation and technical deep dive sessions with partner organizations.

The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
