Software Developer
Hybrid Role
Compensation: $30 - $35
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Client is seeking a skilled Software Engineer with expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and cloud technologies (preferably Azure) to design, develop, test, and document high-quality technical solutions. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in the software development life cycle, working with microservices, REST APIs, distributed systems, and containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. You will be responsible for writing, testing, and documenting technical work products according to organizational standards, ensuring reliability, security, and performance, and identifying opportunities for automation and simplification. Experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and knowledge of the airline industry are preferred. A bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience is required.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Write, test, and document technical work products such as code, scripts, and processes following organizational standards and practices
  • Consistently produce high-quality, clear, concise, and well-tested technical deliverables that are easily understood by others
  • Efficiently debug and resolve design-time and run-time issues, including those related to dependencies and service interactions
  • Design new implementations and provide enhancements to existing architectures, maintaining reliability, resiliency, security, and performance
  • Monitor and address system component issues affecting operational reliability, stability, and performance based on observable telemetry
  • Apply and promote secure coding practices to avoid known vulnerabilities and proactively identify vulnerabilities during code reviews
  • Identify and propose opportunities for automation that improve team performance
  • Consistently identify and capitalize on opportunities for simplification in technical solutions
  • Collaborate within Agile teams and actively participate in Agile project management processes
  • Utilize DevOps methodologies, including Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Deployment (CD)
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Proficiency in Java, Spring, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience/training
  • 2-3 years of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience
  • Experience working with microservices architecture and REST APIs
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Postgres, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Experience working with distributed systems
  • Familiarity with Agile project management methodology
  • Understanding of secure coding practices and vulnerability identification
  • Ability to debug and resolve design-time and run-time issues, including those related to dependencies and service interactions
  • Experience with Object Oriented Analysis, Design Patterns, and Frameworks
  • Knowledge of DevOps toolchain, including TDD, CI/CD
  • Airline industry experience, including business processes and supporting technology, is a plus
