Associate Software Development Engineer -Java Microservices - NYC 4 days per week in office.
An Associate, Software Development Engineer contributes to Publicis Sapient engagements by creating units of defect free code modules that meet the business and technical requirements during Enterprise Architecture Release (Ear), Implementation and Manage phases

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Business:
    • Understand client business and domain. Identify opportunity for digital transformation.
    • Identify technology enablers to extend client business ecosystem
    • Work with arch for technology evaluation and solution.
    • Provide with quick POC for benchmarking solution that are competitive, easy to develop and scale and are cost effective
    • You should be able to work with your architect to cater to all the aspects of solution like architecture, provisioning, networking, estimation and planning.
    • Map client requirement to API contract, documentation along with mocked response.
  • Engineering
    • Follow your passion to explore and apply innovative solutions to enhance existing solution
    • Build boiler plate code, templates and accelerators to enable faster delivery and predictable quality solutions.
    • Rollout white papers, POVs, reference implementations and conduct seminars to share this knowledge.
  • Enable Potential
    • Own people growth for Jr. Developers
    • Manage learning curve for self and others
    • Open to feedback

Qualifications
Engineering skills:
  • A polyglot full life cycle engineer, who can manage the entire product lifecycle on their own
    • Requirement: Understand requirement to map to service contract
    • Design: experience in high level design and low-level design
    • Implementation: End to end implementation, reviews, and code quality plugins
    • Devops: hands on devops
    • Testing: Unit testing and subsequent testing phases and propagation
    • Productization: Experience in production release & troubleshoot.

Development Skills:
  • REST based services design and implementations (Node JS / Java Spring react /Golang)
  • Experience in anyone of the messaging systems (Kafka/ Rabbit MQ/IBM MQ/Active MQ)
  • Any experience with event drive architecture

Devops and Monitoring Skills:
  • Experience with Maven/Gradle/Jenkins/Gitlab/Terraform & docker
  • Experience in any monitoring tool ELK/ Splunk/ Kiali/ Prometheus/ Grafana/ Dynatrace/ Datadog/others

Cloud Skills:
  • Experience in any of the cloud services (GCP/AWS/Azure/others) for application deployment and using cloud services in development cycle.

Advance API Skills (good to have):
  • Experience with anyone of the API gateway products (APIGEE /API Connect/Kong/Mule/AWS API Manager/ Azure APIM/others)
  • Experience with Graphql
  • GRPC standards

Database Skills:
  • NoSQL & or SQL (Postgres/ MongoDB/ MYSQL/ NEO4J/ others)

  • Strong and innovative approach to problem solving and finding solutions
  • Excellent communicator (written and verbal, formal and informal)
  • Flexible and proactive/self-motivated working style with strong personal ownership of problem resolution

Preferred Experience:
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree (MD) in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience

Additional Information
Salary Range: $107,000 - $150,000
The range shown represents a grouping of relevant ranges currently in use at Publicis Sapient. Actual range for this position may differ, depending on location and specific skillset required for the work itself.
