As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Consumer and Community Branch workplace technology team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Partners and collaborates with product, architecture, security and operations teams prioritize reliability and embed best practices across the software development lifecycle to improve operations across the Branch Products. 
  • Lead and develop resilient software solutions that improve reliability, scalability and system performance of the Branch Systems. 
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external and internal teams to outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software development concepts and 5+ years applied experience,  SRE/DevOps, platform engineer, or similar
  • Proficiency in operating and managing cloud-based services using IaC or EaC (infrastructure as code, environment as code Terraform or similar) in AWS
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Proficient in utilizing observability tooling Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, Datadog etc. 
  • Advanced in programming in Java and Python technologies
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods/patterns
  • Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Fluent in English

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • AWS Certifications (e.g.  Solutions Architect Associate)
  • Experienced in SRE/DevOps practices (SLA/SLOs, error budgets, MTTR, MTTD).
  • Knowledge of RAG architectures and Exposure to AI/Automation technologies that improve operations.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
