Title: Java Developer with Python
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Duration: Long term contract / Contract to hire opportunity
Designs, develops, and implements web-based Java applications to support business requirements. Follows approved life cycle methodologies, creates design documents, and performs program coding and testing. Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Qualifications
Position Comments:
- 9-10 years' experience developing Java applications
- 3-5 years' experience or deep understanding of Python
- 3+ years' experience developing J2EE web applications using spring framework
- 2+ years developing RESTful services
-The contractor resources will be used to build web services based upon Hadoop data environments
- They are building a new Recommendation System for Sales Associates to use. Instead of Sales Associates using their intuition to make recommendations to customers, this will use data assets to assist the sales process
