Job description

Location: Joss & Main, Oakbrook Center, Oak Brook, IL


Compensation- $25.00/hr (40 hours per week).

What you’ll do:

  • Provide an authentic, friendly customer experience that exemplifies our Wayfair commitment to relentless customer focus.

  • Leverage interior design and sales expertise in the home furnishings space to help our customers navigate through their design needs and purchases (such as fabric, finishes, texture of the product).

  • Provide coaching and support to Design Sales Advisors and support their allocated workload efforts as determined by the Store Leader. Depending on the specific work shift, this associate will help open and/or close the store, with keyholder responsibilities. 

  • Support Store Leaders to train and develop and support  the Design team on knowledge of our product, selling,  customer service, operations, visual, and other aspects of their roles.

  • Manage virtual, in-store and in-home design appointments (including preparation of design deliverables, product curation, and follow up)

  • Utilize sales analytics and design software tools and applications to drive store profitability and growth in a way that supports the success of the overall brand (moodboards, space plans, 2d/3d room views)

  • Meet or exceed sales and customer satisfaction targets, and other established KPIs 

  • Participate in operational store activities as needed:  bringing new products to the floor, floor sets, replenishment and substitutions

  • Engage in a high energy, focused and dynamic work environment where there can be rapid changes in products, promotions, offerings and operations 

  • Bring a willingness to share innovative ideas and solutions to continuously improve team operations


What you’ll need: 

  • Willingness to travel for in-home consultations. If driving your personal vehicle, proof of the state required auto liability insurance or proof of financial responsibility & a state issued driver’s license may be required.

  • 3+ years of sales experience (Interior design , furniture, or home goods experience preferred.)

  • Experience motivating a team to achieve sales goals (preferably as a leader or trainer in a store environment)

  • Understanding of design principles including spatial planning, fabric selection, interior design styles and trends

  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team sales environment, strong desire to see the teams around you succeed and exceed sales targets. 

  • Strong organization, self-motivation, communication and relationship management skills 

  • Track record of thriving in a fast paced and changing environment

  • Technical acumen to learn necessary software; proficiency in Google Suites and/or Microsoft Office applications preferred.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma equivalent preferred
