Kleinfelder's Salt Lake City, UT office seeks an experienced Construction Inspector III to join our team.

We're looking for individuals with strong initiative, who will perform construction observation and materials testing on various projects to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Following proper procedures,
  • Completing work in a timely manner,
  • Prepare daily field observation reports and materials testing data sheets.
  • Performing accurate computations, and
  • Maintaining cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, contractors, etc.
  • Help in laboratory testing of materials.
  • Training technicians and helping grow the Houston Office.
  • Leading other junior technicians on long-term projects.

This position may require travel from time to time.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years in the field or in trade-related training in a design, construction inspection, construction materials engineering/testing, or other construction related field.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge and experience with equipment used in construction inspection, and field testing of construction materials.
  • Must be able to read, write, comprehend and speak English fluently.
  • Attendance, punctuality and reliability are essential requirements.
  • Able to work independently, make routine decisions concerning construction work progress.
  • Current/valid State Driver's License REQUIRED with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a fingerprint/background check.
  • Construction field materials testing certifications, i.e. Asphalt, concrete, workzone, pavement marking, environmental, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent to include courses in related work type
