Summary

Works-in-Progress Associates (WPA) is currently seeking an experienced Inspector (Structural and Mechanical) to join our team! The project is designed to bring ADA accessibility and station renewal to three NYC subway stations: Gates Av (Brooklyn), Parsons Blvd, and Briarwood (Queens). The design-build project includes installing new elevators, rebuilding stairs, and upgrading station components with a duration of 2.5 years.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of civil/structural construction management experience, specifically in heavy civil, transit, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with New York agencies specification and standards including MTA, NYCT, NYCDDC, NYCDOT, NYSDOT, and NYCDEP is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills are required
  • A driver's license valid in New York State.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with all applicable software packages including but not limited to MS Windows; MS Office (including Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat.

Company Description

WPA is a woman-owned Owner's Representative firm and we manage construction projects for mostly nonprofits including schools, hospitals, libraries, etc. in the New York City area. We have been in business for over 30 years and have completed well over 500 projects. We currently have somewhere between 50-60 employees.

Because we are a woman-owned firm we are on contracts with larger Construction Management firms such as LiRo, Hill International, Jacobs, Tectonic, Gilbane, etc. and we help them to meet their WBE goals. We provide Project Managers, Inspectors, Estimators, Office Engineers and so on. Currently we are on about 10-15 different contracts.
