Job description

Job Summary:

The Construction Inspector supports the successful deployment of i3 Broadband’s FTTH network by ensuring field construction activities meet company standards for quality, safety, and compliance. This role serves as the “eyes in the field,” working closely with construction crews, municipalities, and residents to ensure work is completed correctly and with minimal community disruption.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspection & Quality Assurance

  • Review construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, permits, and standards
  • Identify and communicate construction errors or deviations in real time
  • Perform field audits to support final construction acceptance
  • Monitor safety practices and escalate concerns as needed
  • Maintain detailed field notes and documentation in company systems

Field Coordination & Reporting

  • Act as a liaison between construction crews and supervisors to communicate issues and updates
  • Track daily field activity and support accurate reporting of progress and risks
  • Coordinate with municipal inspectors to address compliance concerns

Community Engagement & Customer Support

  • Serve as a customer-facing representative during construction activities
  • Communicate with residents regarding construction timelines, impacts, and restoration expectations
  • Identify potential issues within neighborhoods and coordinate resolution with crews
  • Distribute informational materials and answer basic questions about i3 Broadband services
  • Support neighborhood outreach efforts and assist with community interactions as needed

Field Operations Support

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in a technical field or 1+ years of experience in construction, telecommunications, or similar, preferred.

  • Field-based experience preferred
