Job description

Rhode Island | Monday–Friday | Inpatient or Outpatient | No Call or Weekends

Join an established cardiovascular team with the Cardiovascular Institute of New England (CINE). We are currently looking for a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant interested in building or continuing a career in cardiology.

This opportunity offers flexibility for an inpatient or outpatient focus, based on the provider’s background, interests, and current practice needs. You'll work closely with cardiologists, APPs, and clinical staff in a collaborative environment with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule and no call or weekend requirements.

Experienced providers and new graduates are welcome to apply. For APPs who are newer to cardiology, CINE provides the opportunity to learn alongside an experienced cardiovascular team while developing clinical knowledge and confidence in the specialty.

Role & Responsibilities

Depending on the inpatient or outpatient focus of the position, responsibilities may include:

  • Assess and manage patients with a variety of cardiovascular diagnoses
  • Perform initial evaluations and cardiovascular follow-up care
  • Review patient histories, symptoms, medications, and treatment progress
  • Order and review appropriate diagnostic testing and laboratory studies
  • Evaluate EKGs, cardiac monitoring, cardiovascular imaging, and other testing
  • Work closely with cardiologists to establish and adjust treatment plans
  • Provide patient education regarding medications, diagnoses, cardiovascular risk factors, and lifestyle changes
  • Communicate and coordinate care with physicians, APPs, nursing teams, and other healthcare professionals
  • Complete clinical documentation accurately and efficiently
What We're Looking For
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Rhode Island license or eligibility to obtain licensure before starting
  • Previous cardiology experience is preferred but not required
  • New graduate NPs and PAs with an interest in cardiovascular medicine are encouraged to apply
