The impact you’ll make

Lam Research is seeking an Information Security Engineer to support the engineering, implementation, and ongoing operation of enterprise security platforms. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving security tools to strengthen the organization\'s detection, prevention, and response capabilities. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Security Operations, Infrastructure, and IT, to ensure tools are effectively deployed, configured, and aligned with security standards.

What you’ll do
  • Support the engineering, implementation, and lifecycle management of assigned security tools and platforms. Silverfort experience is preferred.
  • Maintain and optimize tool configurations in alignment with security standards and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of detection, prevention, and response capabilities.
  • Assist in identifying and remediating configuration gaps, coverage issues, and security findings.
  • Participate in security reviews and provide input on architecture and design decisions.
  • Support the development of operational metrics and reporting to track tool effectiveness and security posture.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., SOC, IT, Cloud, and Infrastructure) to drive alignment and integration.
  • Document processes, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
Who we\'re looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity, with a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or 6 years of related experience with a Master’s degree; or 3 years of related experience with a PhD; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in an Information Security or IT engineering role.
  • Basic understanding of identity systems, endpoint security, and access management principles.
  • Experience supporting or operating enterprise security tools.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management practices and remediation workflows.
  • Relevant industry certification(s) preferred, such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, or an equivalent certification.
  • Foundational experience in Information Security Engineering and security tools/platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more security domains, such as endpoint security, identity security, network security, cloud security, DLP, EPM, web application firewalls, email security, or CSPM.
  • Experience with one or more of the following security tools: Microsoft Defender for Identity (MDI), Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE), Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Purview, Netskope, Palo Alto, Imperva, Intune, Perception Point (FortiMail), or Security Copilot.
  • Understanding of core security concepts, including access control, endpoint protection, and threat detection.
  • Familiarity with integrating security tools with supporting platforms, such as endpoint management solutions, logging platforms, and SIEM/SOAR tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $92,000.00 - $211,000.00.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
