Direct hire. This is not a temp to perm or temp opening. Seeking IT Storage Administrator. Location is Montgomery, AL Must be US Citizen and have minimum interim Secret clearance If you do not have a clearance, client can attain an interim Secret for you. Pay up to $95,000 a year with full benefits but would depend on experience. CompTIA Security+ certification required prior to start. Relocation candidates will also be considered.
Project/Contract Overview:
Seeking a Storage Administrator to support the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Defense Enterprise Computing Center(DECC) in Montgomery, AL.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Storage Administrator, you will:
  • Provide architect support and design of disk and backup storage for connection to Government resources.
  • Apply the following industry best practices when providing recommendations
  • SAN array configuration and management best
  • SAN Fiber Channel switches configuration and management best
  • NAS devices configuration and management best
  • Storage tape devices configuration and management best
  • Cloud storage hardware configuration and management best
  • Enterprise backup configuration and management best
  • Enterprise journaling configuration and management best
  • Perform configuration and management of disk and backup storage for connection to Government resources.
  • Configure and manage SAN arrays, SAN Fiber Channel switches, NAS devices, storage tape devices, cloud-based storage hardware, and enterprise backup
  • Perform monitoring, reporting, and analysis of disk and backup storage for connection to Government resources.
  • Provide capacity planning reports on storage and backup environments, identifying total storage, percent used, and percent free on each storage
  • Monitor hardware status and open tickets for
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems associated with and/or negatively impacting storage and backup operations.
  • Monitor storage and backup operations and report on health status, following established Ecosystem process.
  • Perform analysis of allocated capacity and the association to servers and
  • Create documentation for new processes and procedures the contractor
  • Maintain current documentation associated with storage processes/procedures.
  • Tune disk and backup storage for connection to Government resources.
  • Use DISA Enterprise Standard Monitoring Tools monitoring tools to detect errors and performance issues and recommend corrective
  • Evaluate Operation Systems, Databases, and applications and provide tuning guidance to maximize storage and backup

JOB REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:
Must have either Interim Secret or Secret clearance possess an 8570 CompTIA Security + certification or higher to start work
Education and years of experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in science, Engineer, Math, or Technology and 10 years of experience in an Information Technology environment and 5 years of experience installing/maintaining a Storage or Backup environment, utilization of required software, tools and utilities, implementation and testing of related software

  • Associates degree in Science, Engineer, Math, or Technology and 13 years of experience in an Information Technology environment and 5 years of experience installing/maintaining a Storage or Backup environment, utilization of required software, tools and utilities, implementation, and testing of related software
OR
  • 15 years of experience in an Information Technology environment and 5 years of experience installing/maintaining a Storage or Backup environment, utilization of required software, tools and utilities, implementation, and testing of related software
