Job description

We are seeking a motivated Nuclear NDE Level II or III Examiner to join our expert team. This position requires an individual who has industry experience and has secured and maintained a NDE LII certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT). Additional training and/or certification in other methods may be provided to satisfy SI core competencies and meet customer expectations.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Can set up and calibrate equipment, conduct inspections according to procedures, interpret, evaluate, and document results in all the testing method(s) utilized by the certificate holder
  • Has a strong understanding of the basic physical NDE principles and processes and is competent in advanced technologies
  • Capable of hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical issues
  • Capable of contributing to the continuous improvement of in-house NDE testing tools and software
  • Participates in business development by identifying project opportunities and providing technical insights
  • Willingness to accept extensive travel assignments; receptive to extended work hours/days/weeks

Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalency with secondary education leading towards an AS/BS in science, materials, or engineering
  • 5+ years of Nuclear related experience as a Level II NDE examiner or 5+ years of experience with AS or BS degree
  • Has successfully secured a Level II NDE certification in UT
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
  • Preference for candidate with certification in UT with Phased Array endorsements
  • Automated UT experience
  • Any PDI qualifications from EPRI or demonstrated ability to acquire them
  • Working knowledge of ASME Codes and Nuclear industry regulations
  • Exhibits ethical behavior, trustworthy, respectful of peers
  • Team oriented, professionally minded
  • Safety conscience and compliance with written procedures and quality practices.
Work Environment:
  • Willing to conduct assignments in an environment of less than favorable conditions including dirty or radiological environments and physically challenging conditions (heat, cold or physical activities such as climbing or carrying equipment)
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain focus in hazardous industrial environments such as at heights, on scaffolds and picks, noisy locations, with operating machinery nearby or overhead and with dangerous activities occurring nearby (welding, grinding, flame cutting, overhead loads, etc.)
