Job description

Passionate about precision medicine and advancing the healthcare industry?
Recent advancements in underlying technology have finally made it possible for AI to impact clinical care in a meaningful way. Tempus' proprietary platform connects an entire ecosystem of real-world evidence to deliver real-time, actionable insights to physicians, providing critical information about the right treatments for the right patients, at the right time.
The Studies Portfolio Strategy team oversees the strategy and execution of Tempus-sponsored observational trials, including prospective registry studies and retrospective biospecimen and data collection protocols. We serve as the connective tissue between Tempus' strategic objectives and commercial partner priorities, translating a shared vision into high-impact execution and revenue growth. We govern a shared studies infrastructure that simultaneously delivers on external commercial commitments and internal R&D milestones.
We are seeking a Portfolio Strategy Associate to join our team. This role provides targeted analytical, operational, and project support in building the systems, reporting, and execution enablement of that power strategy. You will support proposal development, oversight of operational execution by cross-functional teams, KPI tracking, site network growth, and client-ready deliverables while developing skills in client management, financial tracking, and data visualization.
What You'll Do
  • Provide targeted support on specific, scoped proposals as needed.
  • Collaborate on product-development projects, supporting project managers on strategic initiatives.
  • Track and report on revenue KPIs for assigned programs to ensure accurate data monitoring.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize cross-functional reporting inputs and dashboards that integrate clinical, operational, and financial data for leadership readouts.
  • Assist in abstract and protocol development support, effectively managing shifting priorities and peak workloads around major conference timelines.
  • Lead site outreach for assigned platforms and assist with development of site networks and management of active sites.
  • Develop and maintain platform playbooks, standardized work instructions, decision logs, and onboarding materials that reduce operational noise for senior leads.
  • Assist with the development of weekly and monthly client slide decks and executive readout materials.
  • Serve as an agile operational engine for data readiness-supporting sprint-like preparation for senior leadership, governance meetings, and partner readouts.
  • Conduct market research and support enrollment forecasting models for new or amended studies as directed.

What We're Looking For
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for forecasting, financial tracking, and data analysis.
  • Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint to create clear, persuasive, client-ready presentations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail and ability to manage shifting priorities.
  • Curious, proactive approach to problem-solving with interest in developing client management skills.
  • Team player who collaborates effectively with diverse cross-functional groups.
  • Interest in data visualization and building reusable reporting systems

Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Business discipline required.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in program operations, business analysis, consulting, or related client-facing support roles.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with or supporting life sciences clinical studies, program operations, or consulting engagements.
  • Exposure to observational studies, site networks, or biospecimen collection programs is a plus.
