Job description

Are you interested in working in an R&D environment? Are you interested in supporting product development? If you have a strong interest in science and industry, we want to talk to you!
We are seeking a R&D Technician to join our R&D team. Individuals should have an interest in supporting scientific projects and laboratory testing, have good written and verbal communication skills, be independently motivated, and be computer proficient.
This position will be required to work out of the Schaumburg, IL office.
Salary range: $44K-$52K, commensurate with experience

RESPONSIBILITIES
The job responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist in preparing formulations for dental materials (e.g., adhesives, composites, etc.)
  • Assist in preparing dental specimens for material testing
  • Conduct material characterization, physical property, application, and analytical testing
  • Documentation of laboratory experiments
  • Provide technical support, training, and general information on laboratory activities
  • Assist in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and instruments
  • Assist in laboratory cleanliness via 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) activities
  • Conduct work in a safe and effective manner in accordance with all HSE requirements.
  • Participate in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives
  • Comply with BISCO policies and procedures
  • Perform other laboratory duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • General computer skills (Windows, email, internet); proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel); able to learn and use business software applications
  • Able to use or learn to use laboratory equipment, instruments, and lab notebooks
  • Able to communicate technical information
Preferred
  • Associate Degree
  • Previous experience in medical device or testing laboratories
  • Previous experience in handling chemicals
  • Experience with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
