Job description

The In Vivo Research Associate is responsible for conducting in vivo studies to support drug development and research under general supervision. This role ensures the proper care and welfare of research animals while following protocols, regulatory guidelines, and study objectives.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Operate under general supervision, adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and study-specific documents (SSDs) to ensure compliance and accuracy in study execution.
  • Conduct in vivo studies, including tumor implantation, surgical procedures, compound administration, and biological sample collection, while accurately recording and reporting data.
  • Perform luminescent and fluorescent imaging to assess drug distribution and monitor disease progression in animal models.
  • Conduct downstream analyses of ex vivo samples to support study objectives.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of study documentation to ensure compliance with protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the Quality System by participating in audits and supporting the preparation and review of SOPs.
  • Clearly communicate information and ideas verbally and in writing, assists in preparation of written materials (e.g. SOPS, SSDs).
  • Perform quality control review and verification of scientific data, including project-related forms, data tables, equipment records, and reagent documentation.
  • Manage sample receipt and shipment, ensuring proper verification and documentation of all incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Prepare and formulate test articles for administration according to Sponsor specifications.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of assigned competencies and SOPs.
  • Participate as a team member and actively contribute to the completion of team goals.
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, or a related scientific degree with 1 - 3 years' experience in a college or professional laboratory setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Office 365 applications and data entry, is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and precision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Previous industry experience preferred.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching to perform animal handling, dosing, and sample collection.
  • Lifting, carrying, and moving equipment and supplies.
  • Dexterity and fine motor skills required.
  • Prolonged periods of wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Visual acuity and attention to detail.
