Description:

Growing real estate law firm is looking for a staff accountant to join our dynamic and engaging Indiana group that offers a tremendous opportunity for long term advancement and professional development opportunities. This position regularly handles matters related to a wide variety of cases including enforcement of property restrictions, contract disputes, construction defects, and other real property issues. Accounts Payable (AP):

  • Enter and process vendor invoices with appropriate coding and documentation
  • Prepare payments via check or credit card
  • Maintain vendor records and ensure tax documentation is up to date
  • Address vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Assist with credit card reconciliation and month-end close

Accounts Receivable (AR):

  • Process incoming payments (checks, ACH, wires) and prepare bank deposits
  • Post payments to customer accounts accurately
  • Follow up on payment discrepancies or short payments

General Accounting Support:

  • Assist with journal entries and general ledger coding as assigned
  • Support audits, reporting, and internal documentation needs
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial procedures


Requirements:

Associate’s degree in accounting or related field required (Bachelor’s preferred)
1–2 years of experience in accounting support (AP, AR, and/or payroll)
Experience in law firm setting or with Escrow accounts a plus
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred
Familiarity with Paylocity or similar payroll systems a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (sorting/filtering, formulas, spreadsheets)
Clear communicator with a proactive, team-oriented attitude
