Job description

Location
  • Hybrid: This position follows a hybrid work model, combining remote work with regular attendance at our South Salt Lake City, UT office.
About the role:

PDQ's Accounting Services team keeps the day-to-day cash cycle running: money coming

in, money going out, and every customer or vendor account reconciled and accurate. As a

Staff Accountant on this team, you'll own collections, payment application, and accounts

payable operations, working closely with Customer Success, Sales, and IT to keep billing

clean and disputes resolved. You'll report within Accounting Services and be one of the

people other teams count on to answer where an account stands.

Why the role matters:

In this role, you'll keep cash moving and customer accounts accurate, directly shaping

how reliably PDQ collects revenue and how smoothly customers and vendors experience

working with us.

How you might spend your day:
  • Apply incoming payments, including check deposits, bank uploads, and Fazeshift cash application, and keep AR aging clean and up to date
  • Run collections: automated ticket workflows, email follow-up, and calls on past-due accounts
  • Own manual invoicing, tax exemption certificates, and customer account updates including billing contacts, addresses, and ACH forms
  • Administer company cards through Divvy, including provisioning, investigating declines, and reconciling receipts
  • Manage procurement operations: vendor onboarding, W-9 collection, contract tracking, and renewal management
  • Own AP aging detail, keeping vendor balances, credits, and payments reconciled
  • Process refunds, write-offs, and account turn-offs, and maintain SOP documentation for the AR/AP function
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Sales, Customer Success, IT, and Corporate Accounting
  • Contribute to team initiatives, process improvements, and strategic goals
  • Support continuous improvement through feedback, learning, and innovation
We're looking for people who have: Must Have:
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or general accounting
  • Comfort managing high transaction volume across multiple systems and reconciling data between them
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through on recurring, deadline-driven work
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication for customer and vendor interactions
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent practical experience
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP
  • Experience with Divvy, Bill.com, Fazeshift, or similar AP/AR automation tools
  • Prior experience in a SaaS or subscription billing environment
  • Experience handling collections calls or customer-facing billing conversations
Who you are:
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Adaptability and comfort working in evolving environments.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a continuous learning mindset.
  • Comfortable owning detail-heavy, recurring processes and keeping them accurate under deadline.
  • Eager to use AI and automation to eliminate manual work and improve how the team operates.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Why You'll Love Working at PDQ:

PDQ offers all of the great perks and benefits you'd expect from working at a very cool tech company, and even some you might not expect, including:

  • 4-Day Work Week
  • Equity Participation
  • Managers who champion professional development
  • 100% Premium Coverage for medical, dental and vision for you and your dependents
  • 100% Premium Coverage for Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Life, and AD&D Insurance
  • Company Match of the first 6% of your employee deferrals
  • Flexible Paid Time Off Policy that treats you like the adult that you are
  • Health Savings Account (HSA) and wellness incentives
  • Quarterly Company Values Award (team member nominated)
