Job description

About Konare Law
Konare Law is not a traditional immigration firm. We are a removal defense law firm that represents noncitizens in some of the most complex and high-pressure immigration removal defense proceedings in the country. Our removal defense attorneys don't just prepare motions-they change lives, shape precedent, and build trusted relationships with clients and communities. As we scale our immigration removal defense practice in 2026, we are seeking a driven, strategic, and client-focused associate who sees this role as the beginning of a long-term leadership journey with us.
The Opportunity

  • Is deeply committed to immigration justice and deportation defense
  • Understands that sustainable removal defense practice requires both excellence in
representation and active engagement in firm growth
  • Wants to build something lasting-not just take on removal defense cases, but grow a
    removal defense practice

You will handle your own docket of immigration removal defense cases from day one, with mentorship, infrastructure, and appellate support. Over time, you'll be expected to cultivate referral relationships, contribute to firm visibility, and help shape our strategic direction within our immigration removal defense litigation practice.
What We're Looking For
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in immigration removal defense, EOIR proceedings, or BIA appeals
  • Demonstrated courtroom or hearing experience in immigration removal court (EOIR), before Immigration Judges (IJ), the BIA, or federal court on removal defense matters
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills in removal defense contexts
  • A personal or professional commitment to serving immigrant communities facing removal proceedings
  • Entrepreneurial mindset-you're ready to grow with us, not just work for us

Why Konare Law?
  • Exclusive focus on immigration removal and deportation defense-no family petitions, no visas
  • High-impact removal defense caseload with real client outcomes
  • Supportive infrastructure: paralegal team, research assistants, and tech-enabled workflows for removal defense litigation
  • Clear pathway to equity partnership for attorneys who demonstrate legal excellence and leadership in removal defense firm development
  • Culture of accountability, ambition, and integrity within our removal defense team
