The Team

Scotiabank's Threat Monitoring & Response (TMR) team is responsible for detecting, monitoring, and investigating threats. We are responsible for the coordination of key programs that impact all divisions within the Cybersecurity Operations (CSOps) organization and all of Information Security & Controls (IS&C).

The Role:

Reporting to the Manager, Cybersecurity Investigations the Cybersecurity Investigator works on Data security cases stemming from the bank's various security controls. The Cybersecurity Investigator works with a variety of technologies and business lines to remediate and contain events that pose a network or data risk to the bank.

  • Like to collaborate with various business lines, IT support functions and IS&C Control functions.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • At least 1 year experience working in a Security Operations Centre or as a Cybersecurity Analyst.
  • Post-secondary education or a minimum of 5 years professional work experience.
  • Advanced communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English. The same in Spanish is a strong asset.
  • Ability to manage incident calls and interfacing with multiple stakeholders for accountability.
  • Familiarity with working in large professional organizations.
  • An understanding of basic computing, networking, and cybersecurity concepts.
  • Curiosity about emerging threats and technologies and are interested in applying these to the business.
  • Spent a lot of time learning about the field of cybersecurity, perhaps getting practical hands-on experience at home using publicly available CTFs and labs.
  • Certifications (Sec+, CySA+, Net+, A+, CISSP Associate)
  • Willingness to participate in a rotational 24/7 support model to ensure continuous coverage and rapid incident response.
