Job description

Data Management Analyst- Naval Support

As a Data Management Analyst, you will support the PMS 300 naval database, which serves as a central repository for the program's boat, product, and inventory information. Reporting directly to the contract Program Manager, you will be responsible for the collection, entry, validation, analysis, and maintenance of data supporting a major Navy acquisition and shipbuilding program.

The primary focus of this position is data entry and metrics reporting. The analyst will add boats and associated product information to the Naval database, maintain and update inventory records, and ensure program data remains accurate, complete, current, and available to support reporting and decision-making. The analyst will also transform ship construction and Navy program office data into comprehensive briefs, reports, metrics, charts, and web-based tools using a variety of software applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Access proprietary databases and collect data from Navy program offices, ship construction activities, and other authoritative sources.
  • Enter new boats, products, and associated information into the PMS 300 naval database.
  • Maintain and update boat and product inventory records throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Review and validate data for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and proper formatting.
  • Identify data discrepancies and coordinate with program stakeholders to research and resolve them.
  • Compile, analyze, and present data through user-friendly charts, graphs, dashboards, reports, and web-based tools.
  • Develop metrics reports that provide statistical analysis and present source data in concise, coherent formats tailored to end-user requirements.
  • Create and maintain relational databases and data repositories to efficiently store, organize, retrieve, and analyze program information.
  • Convert organic ship construction and Navy program office data into executive briefs, recurring reports, and decision-support products.
  • Support the development and maintenance of scheduling tools, including Integrated Master Schedules, using Microsoft Project.
  • Coordinate with PMS 300 personnel and other stakeholders to ensure Foundry data remains current, reliable, and accessible.
  • Provide responsive customer support and communicate effectively with senior-level Government and contractor decision-makers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree.
  • At least five years of experience managing data, databases, or inventory information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
  • Experience performing detailed data entry, quality control, and database maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to develop user-friendly graphical interfaces, reporting tools, or dashboards using Microsoft software applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Customer-service orientation with demonstrated experience communicating with senior-level decision-makers.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance and Government system access.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Current Common Access Card (CAC), Flank Speed account, and Navy Virtual Desktop (NVD) access are highly desirable.
  • Previous active-duty military or Department of Defense contractor experience.
  • Experience supporting Navy acquisition, shipbuilding, boat, craft, inventory, or program management activities.
  • Familiarity with Navy proprietary databases and web-based information repositories.
  • Microsoft Project certification.
  • Training or certifications in database or data management.
