Job description

Description
The Process Controls Technician supports production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing processes within liquid product manufacturing, packaging, and sanitation operations. This role is responsible for programming, troubleshooting, monitoring, and maintaining process control systems and equipment across the facility.
The ideal candidate is highly technical, proactive, and experienced with industrial automation, PLCs, SCADA systems, and manufacturing technologies in a fast-paced production environment.
What You'll Do:
  • Support and maintain safe operating standards and procedures throughout the facility
  • Troubleshoot and optimize automated manufacturing and packaging systems
  • Program, monitor, and maintain process controls for manufacturing and sanitation operations
  • Support controls and programming for filling and packaging equipment
  • Maintain and troubleshoot steam, water, and product temperature control systems
  • Support SCADA systems and electronic monitoring systems
  • Verify bulk ingredient meters and tank level monitoring systems
  • Assist with special engineering and process improvement projects
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, contractors, vendors, and plant operations teams
  • Drive proactive process improvements to reduce downtime and improve efficiency
  • Maintain strong internal and external customer satisfaction standards

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Associate degree in Industrial Electronics, Automation, Electrical Technology, or related field
  • OR 5+ years of hands-on industrial controls experience
  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation software and Allen Bradley components
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and industrial automation technologies
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in manufacturing or food production environments
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical documents
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working around moving equipment, extreme temperatures, and high-noise environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods

Nice-to-Have Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Food manufacturing or liquid processing experience
  • Experience with filling and packaging equipment controls
  • Knowledge of sanitation process controls
  • HMI programming experience
  • Experience with instrumentation and process monitoring devices
  • Preventive maintenance and continuous improvement experience
  • Familiarity with electrical safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices
  • Experience supporting capital projects or equipment installations

Work Environment:
  • Manufacturing and production facility environment
  • Frequent exposure to wet, humid, hot, cold, and high-noise conditions
  • Work around moving machinery and industrial equipment
