UNIT DESCRIPTION
The Information Disposition Unit (IDU) implements the disposition of FBI records and information in accordance with established FBI policies and procedures as well as with disposition authorities approved by the National Archives and Records Administration. This includes destroying temporary records and transferring permanent records to NARA after they become eligible.
KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Occasional travel may be required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required.
MAJOR DUTIES

• Provide guidance on records creation, maintenance, retrieval, storage, and disposition in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
• Plan, analyze, and evaluate records and information management operations by coordinating records disposition, conducting quality assurance reviews, and recommending process improvements to enhance program effectiveness.
• Plan and conduct studies of records and information management functions to evaluate business processes, identify operational issues, and recommend solutions that improve program effectiveness.
• Develop, coordinate, and deliver training and outreach to ensure compliance with records management requirements and promote effective records management practices.
• Develop project plans and program evaluations that incorporate strategic planning, performance measures, and cost-benefit considerations to support initiatives.
• Prepares and presents reports, briefings, and recommendations to executive management to support program improvements, policy implementation, and organizational priorities.
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives, projects, and working groups to advance Bureau-wide records and information management objectives and support mission requirements.

Specialized Experience (SE)
GS-12: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

• Experience analyzing records and information management programs and developing well-supported recommendations that improve program effectiveness, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience managing records throughout the records lifecycle, including records creation, maintenance, storage, retrieval, disposition, and preservation.
• Experience providing technical guidance and implementing records and information management policies, procedures, and solutions to support organizational and mission requirements.
• Experience applying federal records and information management laws, regulations, policies, and guidance to ensure program compliance and support agency objectives.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Positions with fitness for duty requirements or those that require international travel may require proof of certain vaccinations.
• Limited Movement: Policy has been implemented wherein support employees entering a position may be precluded from moving to another position within the Bureau through reassignment or change to a lower grade for a minimum of 12 months. HRD will waive this limited movement policy for qualified employees, who have received an official notification letter that their current position is being relocated due to an organizational restructuring initiative, so those employees can compete for a position elsewhere. Voluntarily leaving a position with a relocation incentive may result in loss of that incentive. Please notate that you have received an official notification letter within your application.
• Probationary employees are precluded from being considered for all job opportunities until 12-months of their 24-month probationary period has concluded.
