Job description


We seek a dedicated and proactive individual to join our Plant Engineering Department as an Engineering Project Field Technician. This role is vital in managing capital projects and process improvements across OSCO's manufacturing plants in Portsmouth, New Boston, and Jackson. The ideal candidate will be an integral team member in developing and implementing industrial projects, following through on all work required for completion. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our manufacturing operations within a dynamic and innovative company.
Duties
• Project Planning: Integrate ideas, process needs, and equipment into comprehensive, generally accepted project plans.
Design & Estimation: Provide cost estimates, justifications, and designs for required industrial systems and equipment.
Installation Coordination: Provide direction for drawings and quotations, while coordinating with suppliers, contractors, and internal personnel to ensure timely installation.
Field Work: Perform hands-on work within the manufacturing environment, including taking field measurements and collecting data for as-built drawings.
Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain Engineering drawings (CAD files) and Plant Engineering files.
Equipment Support: Assist in the start-up of new equipment and develop parts lists and maintenance direction documents.
Relationship Management: Generate and maintain professional relationships with contractors, suppliers, and equipment builders.
Future Planning: Collaborate with OSCO personnel to anticipate industry trends, positioning current projects to meet the company's long-term goals.
Requirements
Education
Minimum of a two (2) year Associate Degree in Applied Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Requirements & Qualifications
Technical Skills: Proficiency in current CAD software (AutoCAD) to produce precise engineering drawings.
Software Proficiency: Professional experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills with the ability to communicate effectively with leadership, vendors, and customers.
Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently or cooperatively to deliver results.
Detail Oriented: High attention to detail with a commitment to taking ownership of projects through to completion.
Physical Stamina: Ability to perform field work inside a manufacturing plant environment.
