What does an associate general do?

An Associate General typically refers to an early- to mid-career legal professional working within the office of the General Counsel at a corporation, government agency, or law firm. Their responsibilities often include assisting with legal research, drafting contracts, providing legal advice, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. They may also support more senior attorneys in litigation, negotiations, and risk management matters. The exact duties can vary depending on the organization and industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an associate general, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Associate General Counsel, you need a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, bar admission, and strong expertise in legal research, analysis, and contract drafting. Familiarity with legal research platforms (such as Westlaw or LexisNexis), document management systems, and compliance tools is essential. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills help you navigate complex legal issues and collaborate with stakeholders. These skills ensure sound legal guidance, risk mitigation, and effective support for organizational decision-making.

What are some typical challenges an associate general may face in their day-to-day work?

Associate General Counsels often balance a wide variety of legal matters, from contract reviews and compliance issues to risk management and internal investigations. One common challenge is prioritizing tasks when urgent legal issues arise across multiple departments. Additionally, they must communicate complex legal concepts in practical terms to non-legal colleagues and ensure the organization stays updated with changing laws and regulations. Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and maintaining attention to detail are key to navigating these challenges successfully.

Job description

Associate Dentist

Marana Dental Care | Marana, AZ

Part-Time to Full-Time | 30% of Adjusted Production | 90-Day Minimum Guarantee | Benefits + CE

Looking for a private practice where you can practice great dentistry, build relationships with your patients, and actually enjoy coming to work?

Marana Dental Care is looking for an Associate Dentist to join our privately owned, modern dental practice in Marana, AZ.

We are a fully digital practice focused on comprehensive patient care, quality dentistry, and creating an exceptional patient experience. We're looking for a dentist who is clinically confident, compassionate with patients, and interested in becoming part of a team—not simply filling a chair.

We believe dentistry is better when doctors have the support, technology, autonomy, and time to do things the right way.

What You'll Do
  • Provide comprehensive general dental care

  • Diagnose and present treatment in a clear, patient-friendly manner

  • Build long-term relationships with your patients

  • Perform restorative, crown and bridge, and other general dentistry procedures

  • Develop comprehensive treatment plans based on each patient's individual needs

  • Collaborate with the hygiene and clinical team to provide coordinated patient care

  • Maintain thorough clinical documentation

  • Provide a high level of clinical care while maintaining excellent patient communication

  • Participate in continuing education and ongoing clinical development

  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative practice culture

What We're Looking For
  • DMD or DDS from an accredited dental school

  • Current Arizona dental license

  • Strong clinical and communication skills

  • Patient-focused approach to dentistry

  • Ability to diagnose confidently and communicate treatment recommendations effectively

  • Someone who takes pride in quality dentistry

  • Reliable, professional, and team-oriented

  • Comfortable working in a modern, fully digital environment

  • A growth mindset and willingness to continue learning

  • Previous private-practice experience preferred, but we're open to the right dentist

Compensation & Benefits
  • 30% of Adjusted Production

  • 90-day minimum daily guarantee: For the first 90 days of employment, the Associate will receive a minimum daily guarantee of $650 per clinical day worked, or 30% of Adjusted Production, whichever is greater. After the first 90 days, compensation will be 30% of Adjusted Production.

  • Adjusted Production: production after contractual PPO/insurance adjustments, but before patient collections

  • Compensation is less applicable laboratory fees for orthodontic and removable cases only

  • Health insurance

  • 401(k) retirement plan

  • Paid Time Off (PTO)

  • Paid holidays

  • Continuing education allowance

  • Malpractice insurance

  • Arizona dental license and DEA fees covered after 1 year of employment

  • Modern, fully digital practice

  • Supportive clinical and administrative team

  • Privately owned practice with no corporate bureaucracy

  • No weekends

  • Positive, respectful, low-drama work environment

Why Marana Dental Care?

We're not interested in building a practice where the doctor is expected to simply "produce."

We want our doctors to practice dentistry they can be proud of.

You'll have the support of an experienced team, modern technology, and a practice owner who understands what it's like to be in the operatory. We value communication, clinical excellence, patient relationships, and work-life balance.

We also believe compensation should be straightforward and tied to the dentistry you provide. That's why our ongoing compensation is based on adjusted production rather than collections.

We're looking for a dentist who wants to grow with us, contribute ideas, build a loyal patient base, and become an important part of the practice.

The Kind of Dentist Who Thrives Here

You don't have to be the loudest person in the room or have every procedure mastered on day one.

We're looking for someone who is confident, curious, ethical, patient-focused, and willing to continue growing.

If you enjoy comprehensive dentistry, connecting with patients, and working with a team that genuinely has your back, you'll fit in well here.

If you're looking for a private practice where you can do great dentistry without the corporate pressure—and where your clinical judgment and patient relationships are valued—we'd love to meet you.

How to Apply

Please submit your resume/CV along with a brief introduction telling us about yourself, your clinical experience, and what you're looking for in your next dental home.
