Job description

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software applications, APIs, and enterprise systems that support business objectives. This role serves as a technical leader within the engineering team, helping drive architecture decisions, engineering best practices, secure development, production reliability, and mentorship of junior and mid-level engineers.

This position requires strong full-stack engineering experience, with emphasis on modern .NET APIs, Angular-based web applications, SQL Server-backed systems, secure service integrations, and maintainable enterprise software.

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable software applications, services, and APIs.
  • Build and maintain ASP.NET Core REST APIs that orchestrate downstream enterprise services, SQL Server databases, and internal or third-party integrations.
  • Develop and support Angular/TypeScript web applications using modern frontend patterns, reusable components, routing, forms, and service-based API integration.
  • Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions across frontend, backend, data access, and integration layers.
  • Write clean, efficient, secure, and maintainable code following established engineering standards and design patterns.
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA, business stakeholders, and other engineering teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Review code, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex defects, integration issues, performance problems, and production incidents.
  • Implement resilient service integration patterns, including retry strategies, timeout handling, structured error handling, and graceful downstream failure handling.
  • Maintain secure authentication and authorization flows using OAuth/OIDC, JWT claims, role/permission checks, and secure configuration practices.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment readiness, and DevOps practices.
  • Support production reliability through structured logging, correlation IDs, metrics, distributed tracing, and other observability practices.
  • Document technical designs, processes, API contracts, and system architecture.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in C#, ASP.NET Core, and RESTful API development.
  • Strong proficiency with TypeScript and Angular, including RxJS, routing, forms, component design, and service-based API integration.
  • Experience designing and maintaining layered application architectures, including services, repositories, domain models, and data access layers.
  • Experience building APIs that consume and orchestrate multiple downstream services.
  • Experience with SQL Server, including stored procedures, parameterized queries, and performance-conscious data access.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, dependency injection, and maintainable software architecture.
  • Experience with secure application development, including OAuth/OIDC, JWT authentication, claims-based authorization, and secure configuration practices.
  • Experience writing automated unit and integration tests for backend and frontend applications.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD tools, build pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with observability practices such as structured logging, correlation IDs, metrics, and distributed tracing.
  • Experience designing resilient service integrations, including retry strategies, timeout handling, and graceful downstream failure handling.
  • Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger documentation and API versioning practices.
  • Experience building reusable frontend components or working within an enterprise design system.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-hosted applications, or containerized deployment models.
  • Experience modernizing legacy .NET applications or supporting systems across multiple .NET versions.
  • Experience working in insurance, financial services, healthcare, or another regulated industry.
  • Experience maintaining API and frontend contracts across multiple related applications.
