Position Overview
TRABUS Technologies is seeking an Entry- to Mid-Level Full Stack Engineer to join our growing technical team and contribute creativity, enthusiasm, and strong software development skills to a variety of innovative projects.
The Full Stack Engineer will support the development, maintenance, and deployment of applications across marine transportation, cybersecurity, and climate/environmental informatics. These applications combine artificial intelligence, data analytics, and spatiotemporal big data to support government and commercial customers.
This position provides an opportunity to work across the full application lifecycle, including backend and frontend development, databases, APIs, DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud-based environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and enhance existing full-stack applications across backend, frontend, DevOps, and data layers.
  • Support applications incorporating artificial intelligence, data analytics, and spatiotemporal big data.
  • Collaborate with TRABUS software engineers to architect, develop, and deploy new full-stack applications incorporating AI and big data analytics.
  • Maintain and develop applications using modern web frameworks and technologies such as Django and React.
  • Assist with the development and enhancement of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for current and future application development efforts.
  • Support existing cloud-based applications and assist with developing new applications on cloud platforms such as AWS and DigitalOcean.
  • Maintain and develop data-driven APIs using technologies such as GraphQL and Swagger.
  • Participate in application testing, troubleshooting, integration, and deployment activities.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, AI/ML engineers, and other technical team members throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to full-stack application development supporting TRABUS government and industry contracts as well as product commercialization efforts.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of programming experience using a high-level programming language such as Python.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Python-based web frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
  • Experience with frontend technologies such as:
    • React
    • JavaScript
    • TypeScript
    • CSS
    • Bootstrap
    • Tailwind
  • Experience working with relational database technologies such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
  • Experience or familiarity with NoSQL data stores such as Redis or MongoDB.
  • Basic knowledge of software automation tools and CI/CD concepts.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a software development and technical engineering environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a final DoD-adjudicated Secret security clearance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Current DoD-adjudicated Secret security clearance.
  • Knowledge or experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning/Deep Learning technologies such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras.
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux or Unix-based operating systems.
  • Experience working with Git repositories and version control.
  • Experience working within Agile development environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to procedural compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and priorities while meeting established deadlines.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or another related STEM discipline preferred.
  • Equivalent relevant education and professional experience may be considered in place of a degree.
