Assistant or Associate Professor-Civil Engineering
Academic Year Salary: Assistant Professor $79,000 Associate Professor $92,500
Montana Technological University provides a comprehensive benefits package for all eligible positions that includes health, dental and vision insurance, mandatory retirement plan with employer contribution, partial tuition waiver, and a wellness program.

Duties:
Primary responsibilities include developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses serving the Civil Engineering Department, along with undergraduate and graduate academic and research advising. Active scholarship and service to the department, campus, and profession are expected.
Required Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in Civil Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution (by the time of appointment);
  • Ability and desire to develop and teach undergraduate courses serving the Civil Engineering Department;
  • A demonstrated record of research excellence, commensurate with career stage.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise in Civil Engineering topics relevant to the undergraduate Civil Engineering program, particularly topics that complement those of the other faculty in the department;
  • Past experience with and commitment to excellent teaching at the university level, or demonstrated ability to develop potential in this area;
  • Evidence of ongoing scholarly activity (peer-reviewed publications, successful proposals, etc.). or evidence of commitment to developing an active research program;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and external partners;
  • Industry and/or government experience relevant to the applicant's career path;
  • Strong communications skills, both written and oral;
  • Experience with mentorship, or potential to develop mentorship skills;
  • Professional engineering licensure, or the ability to obtain professional engineering licensure.
