Job description

Developers are at the heart of everything AWS builds. We are creating AI-powered development tools like Kiro and our serverless products that help developers write code more efficiently, debug faster, and eliminate time-consuming manual tasks. We are looking for experienced builders who want to help other builders maximize their productivity with these tools while influencing the future of software development.
As an Associate Developer Advocate, you will work directly with the teams building these tools while helping thousands of developers worldwide understand their practical applications. This highly visible role within AWS offers the opportunity to establish yourself as a recognized expert in AI-assisted development, with direct influence on the future of these tools through your content, community engagement, and product feedback.
Key job responsibilities
You will create comprehensive technical content showcasing AWS's developer tools. Your work involves building in-depth video tutorials, live coding demonstrations, and detailed implementation guides that help developers integrate these tools into their daily workflows. You will focus on long-form technical content that shows complete problem-solving scenarios like building full-stack architectures.
Your technical demonstrations will include building full applications, creating integration patterns for existing development environments, and showing practical workflows across multiple programming languages. You will develop content specifically for frontend developers, backend engineers, and full-stack teams, addressing the unique challenges each group faces when adopting AI-assisted development.
Through hands-on coding and community engagement, you will identify gaps between developer needs and current tooling capabilities. You will work directly with engineering teams to influence product roadmaps based on real developer feedback, contribute to open source projects, and build guides that help developers achieve measurable productivity improvements.
A day in the life
Your day might start by reviewing community feedback on your latest tutorial, then jump into building a live coding demo showing Java modernization techniques. You will spend time in developer forums and engage authentically in technical discussions where AI development tools naturally fit. You will collaborate with product teams on upcoming features, testing beta releases, or creating content that addresses real developer pain points you have discovered through community engagement. You might end the day preparing for a conference talk or writing a technical blog post that breaks down complex integration patterns into actionable steps.
About the team
We are developers who advocate for tools that help developers, focused on creating content that solves practical development challenges. Our mission is to demonstrate how AI-powered development tools integrate naturally into existing workflows while delivering measurable productivity improvements. We work directly with the developer community to understand real pain points and collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve developer experience by bringing community feedback into product development. Our approach emphasizes showing working code over abstract concepts, engaging as technical peers, and sharing authentic development experiences including challenges and failures.
